Carmel MCDC - 2018.01.20

An interesting way to kick of my 2018 calling with the free dance in Carmel celebrating a local dancer's birthday.  The David Holodiloff Band has a nice big sound and lots of variety, but isn't particularly used to playing for contra dances. We had many first timers in the door for this free dance, so it was a challenge working with lots of beginners as well as somewhat unfamiliar music. We had a really fun night - two lines for most of it, with one very full line for the last contra. Here's what I called:
 "Airpants" by Lisa Greenleaf
 "Cascades" by Orace Johnson
"Black Bird in the Night" by Don Flaherty
"Delphiniums and Daisies" by Tanya Rotenberg
"Rock Creek Reel" by David Harris
 "Birmingham’s" by Gary Nelson
"Merry Maze Reel" by Rick Mohr
 "Fairport Harbor" by Paul Balliet
"Labor of Love" by Kathy Anderson
 "Susie’s Send-Off" by Scott Higgs
